Gratitude Can Change Your Life

Gratitude can Change your life

As we approach Thanksgiving Day we reflect on gratitude and yes thanksgiving is the day of gratitude, but it doesn’t have to be the only one.
Negative experiences tend to be more vivid than positive ones. Rewiring our brain takes time. You have to train your brain and mind to acknowledge positive events — you must build a habit of creating good memories.

Being grateful doesn’t mean convincing yourself of some bogus notion that everything’s fine. Living your life with gratitude means choosing to focus your time and attention on what you appreciate. The goal is not to block out difficulties, but to approach those difficulties from a different perspective. Appreciation softens us. It soothes our turbulent minds by connecting us with the wonderfully ordinary things, great and small, that we might otherwise take for granted.

Gratitude has been scientifically proven to strengthen your immune system and make you happier and more optimistic, as well as less lonely and isolated. It connects you to something greater than yourself — it’s experiencing life as a surprise gift. There’s always something new to discover and be thankful for. You have to keep your mind open — make room for the good memories, not the bad ones.

Appreciation is the joy of seeing the good in something or someone — this mental state boosts both our happiness and motivation.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.

Here are a few simple things to try to start feeling a little more blissful on a regular basis:
1. Keep a gratitude journal.
2. Practice present moment awareness.
3. Think bigger than yourself.
4. Share the love with your family and friends.
5. Replace complaints with gratitude.

As we cultivate greater appreciation for what is around us, we can include being thankful for what’s inside of us. We can delight in and feel grateful for our own unique talents and strengths. We can be grateful that we have a heart, a mind, and the wisdom to know how to live with kindness and compassion.

I am very grateful for all of you!!
Happy Thanksgiving Day ♥
